Savanna Sunrise, the company that pioneered digital hotel marketing in Kenya, was founded by Håvar Bauck and Endre Opdal in 2014.
Based on a realization that the global travel and hospitality industry was moving online fast and that few African hotels had embraced the international trend, the two founders saw a unique opportunity.
Their first joint project, Nairobi Airport Hotel, was already thriving, proving that digital marketing worked just as well in Africa as elsewhere.
Sensing the potential, the daring entrepreneurs incorporated Savanna Sunrise and went all-in on a project that would transform Africa’s hospitality sector.
The business that disrupted African hospitality is today known as HotelOnline, while the original Savanna Sunrise remains a consultancy and investment firm owned by the Founders.
